From SIN to Chinatown
Chinatown is a straightforward ride from Changi Airport. The neatest MRT route changes at Expo onto the Downtown Line, which runs direct to Chinatown (DT19) for about S$2 in roughly 45–55 minutes. A taxi or Grab takes about 25 minutes for around S$25–45.

By MRT: change at Expo for the Downtown Line
From Changi Airport take the train two stops to Expo and change onto the Downtown Line (DTL), which runs straight through to Chinatown (DT19) — the heart of the temples, food streets and shophouse hotels. One change, about S$2, and roughly 45–55 minutes.
You can also ride to Tanah Merah, take the East–West Line to Outram Park, then the North East Line one stop to Chinatown (NE4) — handy if your hotel is closer to that end near Pagoda Street.
Taxi and Grab
By road Chinatown is about 20–25 minutes from Changi for roughly S$25–45 on the meter, before the S$6–8 airport surcharge. The lanes around Pagoda Street and Smith Street are partly pedestrianised, so a driver may drop you on a nearby main road such as New Bridge Road or South Bridge Road.
